Wednesday, 24 June 2020 | Staff Reporter | RAIPUR

Chhattisgarh has been placed in the second position for use of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) to bring transparency, efficiency and accountability in empowering and implementing departmental schemes in Panchayats.

The Union government's Ministry of Panchayat Raj placed Himachal Pradesh on the top.

Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel and Panchayat, Rural Development Minister T.S. Singh Deo greeted all departmental officers and employees for the achievement.

The official statement states that village panchayats in Chhattisgarh are implementing and monitoring schemes and programmes through computer-based ICT.

It said that under e-Panchayat, all the basic services and works are being monitored through 11 core applications. Each village panchayat has been given a unique code under Local Governance Directory (LGD). The mapping has been done on LGD portal.

In the current fiscal 2020-21, village development schemes in all the 11,664 village panchayats have been uploaded in the entry plan plus software. The cash book closure of Panchayat for 2018-19 is also being done online.

Any villager can monitor the different works through the Panchayat website. P-Notice Board’ Mobile application has been developed to send messages to panchayat and common citizens.
