BSL wins GEE Award 2020
Bokaro Steel Plant has added another feather in its cap by winning the prestigious Greentech Environment Excellence Award 2020 in “Recycling & Waste Management” Category under the leadership of DIC Amarendu Prakash. Greentech Environment Awards 2020 is presented in recognition of responsible, innovative practices and initiatives towards achieving sustainable goals. Bokaro Steel Plant’s Environment Control Department (ECD) had filed an application on behalf of BSL in “Recycling & Waste Management Category” on 19th Aug, 2020. Presentation was done by AGM (ECD) NiteshRanjan in front of Jury members on 27th Oct’20 and queries raised by jury members were handled by GM (Environment), NP Srivastava. The award will be presented during “20th Annual Greentech Environment Summit” scheduled on 11th-12th February, 2021 at Mahabalipuram.
CSEPS presents memorandum to Munda
Members of Center for Socio Economic and Parliamentary Studies, Ranchi, today presented 'Memorandum on Tribal Subjects' by the institution to Union Minister for Tribal Affairs, Arjun Munda, who suggested the institution to submit its suggestion to the Ministry by analyzing the gap of Tribes India's programs. Ayodhya Nath Mishra, Secretary of the institution said that the memorandum on Tribal Subjects has suggestions on various points presented by the institution. These suggestions have been discussed on the economic, educational, social, livelihood, agriculture of tribal communities, how they have connected their various products with the market, etc. Apart from Ayodhya Nath Mishra, Chairman of the institution O. P. Lal, Deputy Chairman Sanjay Khandelwal, Members Santosh Kiro and Amarnath Jha were present on the occasion.
SBPS student shines in national competition
Aran Agarwal of XII made the State proud with his outstanding performance in the ISEA National Level Competition 2020. Being one of the winners of the State level for the category of Short Film/ Animated Video, through his video, he aimed at educating people about cyber ethics and cyber hygiene. It was an initiative taken by the Information Security Education and Awareness (ISEA) in collaboration with the Government of India and CBSE. He is the proud recipient of a token prize of rupees six thousand for the same. Not only the school, but the entire Jharkhand state is proud of the child. His feat is even more commendable as the video was shot during the lockdown adhering to the safety norms.
Jaiswal, actors meet Finance Minister
JPPC president Aditya Vikram Jaiswal, Bollywood film actors Harshvardhan Dev, Shravan Jain and Yogesh Bhatia today met Finance Minister Dr. Rameshwar Oraon. During this meeting, the topic related to the film policy of Jharkhand and its development was discussed in detail. On this occasion, Harshvardhan Dev said that Ranchi has immense possibilities in the field of film production. Each location is directly connected to nature. Here the film industry can grow at a very fast pace. Oraon said that the Jharkhand government should be able to develop the film industry and uplift the art-culture and provide a good platform to local artists.
Virtual Quiz Organised for Class I students
A GK Quiz was conducted for the students of Class 1 at DPS, Ranchi on December 16. The occasion was graced by Kripa Nand Jha, IAS. Jha highly appreciated the efforts taken by the school and its teachers to put together an event so grand. Sharing the experience of his long association with the school, Jha didn't fail to acknowledge the steps taken to make virtual learning as effective as classroom learning by the visionary leader of the school, Dr Ram Singh, Principal DPS Ranchi. The level of the competition and the confidence of the young minds astonished everyone present there greatly. District Cong demands civic polls
Dhanbad district Congress committee on Thursday demanded for holding the due civic polls of Dhanbad and Chas municipal corporations besides the Panchayat polls too. The committee met on Thursday under chairmanship of district president Brajendar Prasad Singh and decided to hand over a memorandum to the government in this regard. Talking to the media Singh said that development of city and rural areas can be done only by holding the civic elections on due time. Delay may lead to dissatisfaction among the people.
Man held on rape charges
Police arrested a man who allegedly raped a 16-year-old girl on the false pretext of marriage, and made her pregnant. The accused was produced before a Sessions court on Wednesday and remanded to judicial custody. SDPO, Garhwa, Bahman Tuti said accused Dharambir Bhuiyan and the 16-year-old victim lived in the same neighbourhood and had been in a relationship for the last several months. "The accused had promised to marry her. She did not reveal to her family. The matter came to light after she became pregnant,” he said.
