Govindpura police have seized two buses at ISBT on Sunday carrying over 70 persons from Ratlam which was arranged by Ratlam district administration to assist people marooned to reach their destination after imposed lockdown.
These people who are stranded people and migrant workers and have been walking several miles crossing state borders from different parts were helped by Ratlam district administration and were scheduled to make it to their home in Mandla, Sagar, Betul, Jabalpur and Chhindwara districts were left stranded in the middle of the night. After the police received informed team acted swiftly and found two buses with 70 people at ISBT terminus in Bhopal.
In the initial investigation police have seized two buses bearing registration numbers MP43P0504 and MP43P0212 which were arranged by Ratlam district administration to carry 70 persons who are residents of Mandla, Sagar, Betul, Jabalpur and Chhindwara districts. However, the people travelling were shocked to find that their journey was ended abruptly after the bus drivers forced them to alight off the bus at ISBT terminal Bhopal and after which the drivers escaped leaving the buses. Out of the stranded passengers few managed to get vehicles for their districts while remaining were left stranded at the ISBT terminus.
Taking action against the bus drivers police based on the details of the passengers in two buses registered a case against bus operators and drivers under sections 188 and 270 of IPC and section 51 (2) of National Disaster Management Act.The district administration has made arrangements of other vehicles for remaining stranded passengers.
