Out of the 47 Covid-19 positive cases reported from Khordha district on Thursday, as many as 38 were from Bhubaneswar. With the new cases, the total tally rose to 258 in the capital city.
Of the 38 new cases 25 are from home quarantine and 13 cases are local contacts, the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) said.
Following detection of the new cases on the day, further contact tracing is underway. The primary contacts and nearby houses are being quarantined, sanitised and would be under active surveillance, the BMC said.
With this, the Covid tally in Bhubaneswar surged to 258 with 127 active cases. Three patients have died of the disease so far.
However, 14 patients undergoing treatment in the hospitals recovered from the disease in the city. With this, the recoveries rose to 127 in the State capital.
