17 hurt as bus ferrying students meets with mishap at Ayodhya

A total of 17 students and bus driver were injured when a bus from Prayagraj ferrying students to their native villages in Kushinagar met with an accident on the outskirts of Ayodhya late Tuesday night.
The injured were initially rushed to community health centre (CHC) from where they were later referred to Ayodhya district hospital.
Taking note of the incident, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath directed the district magistrate and district police chief to ensure proper treatment to the injured and also arrange a bus so that the other students could reach their homes. 
As per reports, a Lohia Sewa bus of Uttar Pradesh Road Transport Corporation (UPSRTC)  was going from Prayagraj to Kushinagar when a truck rammed into it from behind at Bilarimafi area on Ayodhya-Prayagraj highway. As a result the bus driver lost control over the wheel and the bus skidded off the road.
Of the occupants, 17 were injured, including the bus driver and a constable deployed for security. They were rushed to community health centre in Bikapur for first aid and later 12 of them were referred to Ayodhya district hospital for treatment. The condition of three students was stated to be critical.
Ayodhya DM Anuj Jha and SSP Asheesh Tewari rushed to the hospital after learning about the mishap and arranged another bus for the other students to go to their native places in Kushninagar.
The Yogi government had decided to send students preparing for various competitions at Prayagraj to their native places due to problems being faced by them during lockdown. So far, 10,000 students have been sent home using 300 buses.
Meanwhile in Chitrakoot, a dacoit lodged in the district jail died under mysterious circumstances late Tuesday night. A magisterial inquiry was ordered and the body was sent for autopsy. Jailed dacoit Prahlad Kol had his dinner on Tuesday night and an hour later he complained of acute pain. After attending on him, the jail doctor rushed him to district hospital where he was pronounced dead upon arrival.
Jailer of Chitrakoot jail, Shriprakash Tripathi, said that the undertrial probably died of cardiac arrest but the autopsy report was being awaited. Information of his death was conveyed to his kin in Barah Nirah hamlet of Chitrakoot. 
Elsewhere in Firozabad, a railway employee ended his life in a quarantine centre at HF Hospital on Wednesday morning.
The employee attached with railway control room in Tundla (Firozabad) was quarantined at HF Hospital in Firozabad where he committed suicide.
A case was registered and investigations were on.
