Rs 35k cash, jewellery looted in house robbery

In a daring incident, a group of three robbers stormed the house of a retired Hawaldar before robbing valuables worth lakhs of rupees. The robbers held the Hawaldar, his wife and two children at gun point and took away Rs 35000 in cash, gold, silver and a rifle.

The incident occurred at Ram Vihar Colony of Gole Ka Mandir yesterday night. Police suspect the role of three people living in a slum area near Ram Vihar Colony and have launched a manhunt to arrest them. Police said that Kushwaha and his family were asleep when three armed robbers broke into the house and threatened the family with dire consequences if they made a sound before removing cash and jewelry from the cupboard.

The victim, Gajraj Singh Kushwaha, an ex-serviceman said that he and his son were sleeping in their bedroom in the first floor of his house while his wife and daughter were sleeping in the adjacent bed room.

He added that around 12 at night the robbers climbed the balcony and after locking his room from outside entered his wife’s room and looted the valuables after threatening his wife and daughter with the gun. According to Kushwaha, the robbers threatened him that they would kill his wife and daughter if he made any sound to alert the neighbors.

After the robbers had left the victim called his tenant who is staying in the ground floor.

The tenant unlocked the room and set the victim and his family free before informing the police.

Speaking to the media persons, Gole Ka Mandir CSP, Ramnaresh Sharma said that the police have some clear clues about the robbers and added that they will be apprehended soon.

He also said that the police are on the lookout for three suspects, namely Vikas Bhadouris, Pratap Bhadouria and Kaushal Kishore.
