Saturday, 07 December 2019 | PNS | Haridwar

The Roorkee police held a programme in the Methodist College, Roorkee in which martial arts experts taught self defence techniques to the girl students.

The aim of the event was to raise awareness among the girls regarding their safety and to teach them basic self defence techniques.

The police officers exhorted the girls to raise their voice against questionable behaviour, trust the police and also to be aware of cyber crimes.

As part of this programme, Taekwondo coach Yakub Khan and Karate black-belt Priyanka Prajapati were also called to teach the basics of self defence to the students.

While pamphlets on safety points prepared by the police were distributed, the students were assured of protection by the police.

The Roorkee circle officer Chandan Singh Bisht, inspector Amarjit Singh along with the college principal Shalini Singh and staff were among those present on the occasion.
