Punjab state power utility, continuing its crusade to identify unscrupulous elements among its staff who despite having been forewarned through written communication have not stopped indulging in misdemeanors, has again cracked its whip on two errant officers including an Assistant Engineer.
Punjab State Power Corporation Limited (PSPCL) has placed under suspension the services of its Assistant Executive Engineer (AEE) and Assistant Engineer (AE).
The PSPCL management on Thursday reiterated its resolve to curb the menace of corruption in organization and to take strict action against the officers or employees found indulging in corrupt practices.
PSPCL chairman-cum-managing director Baldev Singh Sran said that the PSPCL will not tolerate mistreating of esteemed consumers and indulgence in corrupt practices by any of its employees.
Spokesperson informed that an inquiry conducted by PSPCL’s enforcement wing revealed that AE Satinder Singh, posted at Machhiwara subdivision, took bribe of Rs 85,000 in lieu of increase of load, transformer installation and release of Agriculture pumpset connection in different cases.
On receiving the inquiry report, PSPCL CMD ordered to place him under suspension and his headquarters has been fixed at the office of Chief Engineer (DS) Zone Central, Ludhiana.
In the same case, a show cause notice has been approved to another employee, Junior Engineer (JE) Preet Singh, who has also been transferred outside the South Zone for tarnishing the PSPCL’s image.
In another case, AEE (Civil) Mohammad Rashid, posted at Grid Construction and Maintenance, Ludhiana, was alleged to have indulged in tempering of records and causing financial loss to Corporation.
