Terming Aam Aadmi Party's (AAP's) announcements pertaining to people consuming up to 200 units of electricity won't have to pay power bills as poll stunt, Delhi Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) unit chief Manoj Tiwari said that the announcement of AAP are ahead of the Delhi Assembly elections.
"I welcome the move but it is aimed to gain political advantage in the run up to the Delhi polls," Kejriwal is announcing freebies in view of the assembly elections," Tiwari said.
Accusing Kejriwal for misleading people, Tiwari said , "Kejriwal looted 8500 crore rupees as fixed charges and load charges, BJP will start agitation if this money looted from the consumers is not refunded ."
"Why he is not implementing the Aayushman Bharat Yojna in Delhi for Medical Treatment up to Rs 5 lakh," said Tiwari. He did not order for CAG audit to benefit the power companies ," Tiwari added further.
Leader of Opposition (LoP) Vijender Gupta said that not a single new school or hospital has been opened and the work under Metro Phase-IV had also been stopped. Kejriwal has invented a new method of looting the consumers." "AAP is sinking ship and one should grab whatever he gets from it. Kejriwal is going to lose power in the next Assembly Election. The distribution of freebees to the people of Delhi will be made out of the public fund of Delhi," said Gupta.
The Delhi government will give full subsidy to those consuming up to 200 units of electricity and an almost 50 per cent subsidy to people consuming 201 to 400 units, Kejriwal told reporters earlier in the day
