R K Singh, Minister of State (Independent Charge), Power and New & Renewable Energy, Govt of India will inaugurate a two-day "Indian Power Stations 2019 (IPS)- International O&M Conference" of NTPC Limited here at Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya Auditorium at Raipur on Wednesday.
A K Bhalla, Secretary (Power), Govt of India, Gurdeep Singh, Chairman & Managing Director, NTPC Limited, and senior officials from Ministry of Power and NTPC Limited will grace the occasion.
IPS Conference is held every year on 13th February to commemorate the synchronization of the first unit of Maharatna NTPC's flagship power station at Singrauli on the same day in 1982.
It is to be noted here that India is among the fastest growing global economies and power sector has to play a pivotal role in making the economy even stronger by introducing global best practices.
Acting in this direction, NTPC Limited has taken a lead in providing a global platform by organizing Indian Power Stations (IPS-2019) Conference to bring best practices from across the globe and business opportunities to India.
This is the eighth edition of IPS with theme "Generating Safe, Reliable, Eco-friendly, Flexible Power - With State-of-the-Art Technologies".
Over 500 industry representatives including delegates from the US, Germany, Switzerland, China, Japan, major power generators such as SEBs, NHPC, DVC, THDC, Vedanta, Reliance Power, JSW Energy, TATA Power, power sector stakeholders like CERC, CEA, MNRE and Central Pollution Control Board, institutions like TERI and manufactures and service providers like Siemens, GE, Alstom, BHEL, Hitachi, Toshiba, Megger, etc will attend the event being held for the first time outside Delhi.
While 11 international papers and 71 domestic technical papers are to be presented during the two-day conference, five papers from IITs and NITs will be presented during an interface between industry and academia.
Further, a Techno-Galaxy exhibition is being held to showcase the products and technologies from 42 Indian and International manufacturers.
