Potholes yet to be repaired: MCD to remind PWD

Wednesday, 10 July 2019 | PNS | DEHRADUN

With monsoon having arrived in the State, people in the provisional State capital have been facing problems resulting from waterlogging and potholes on the roads.

As the authorities having failed to address these problems so far, the Dehradun mayor Sunil Uniyal ‘Gama’ said that a reminder letter will be sent to the Public Works Department (PWD) for doing the patchwork on roads to repair potholes.

Mayor Sunil Uniyal ‘Gama’ said, “The main roads’ patchwork is not in our hands -it is the duty of the PWD.

The responsibility of patchwork in the wards lies with us for which work is in progress.

We had sent a letter to the PWD regarding the repair of the potholes on the main roads in the city.

A reminder will be sent by us in the same matter to the department.” It is pertinent to mention here that though the MCD had assured that people would not have to face problems due to waterlogging and damaged roads in the monsoon, the claims have fallen flat in the initial phase of monsoon.
