Petrol pumps asked to install CCTVs

The Chhatrapur police have cautioned the petrol pump owners and officials of different microfinance organisations to remain alert and adopt adequate security measures while taking cash to banks for deposits.

Police held a meeting with the officials of all the 13 petrol pumps and micro finance organisations here on Monday evening and sensitised them on possible threat perceptions while carrying cash to the banks.

Among others, Chatrapur SDPO Utkal Keshari Das, IIC Piyush Ranjan Chottray and the Second Officer were present.

Police, after having threadbare discussion with the officials, explained various security measure to be taken to prevent looting and larceny on the way to banks by the miscreants. Among other measures, the police advised all the officials to install high resolution CCTV camera in strategic places and asked the organisations to ensure that a responsible officer or a senior rank official is accompanying the cashier/security personal while carrying cash to the banks for deposit each time.

Police also advised these organisations to give emphasis on cashless transactions as best option to prevent such incidents of robbery or larceny.
