OMC pays Rs 500-crore dividend to State Govt

The Odisha Mining Corporation (OMC) and the Odisha Hydro Power Corporation Limited (OHPC) on Friday paid dividends for 2018-19 to the State Government towards its equity holding in these public sector undertaking.

Steel and Mines Minister Prafulla Mallick met Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik and handed over  a cheque for Rs 500 crore to him at the Secretariat here towards OMC’s dividend for 2018-19 against the State Government’s equity holding in the company, said an official release.

Steel and Mines Additional Chief Secretary RK Sharma, OMC Chairman Sanjeev Chopra and Managing Director R Vineel Krishna were present on the occasion.

Similarly, Energy Minister Susanta Singh handed over cheque of Rs 18.65 crore to Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik in presence of Energy Secretary Hemant Sharma and OHPC Chairman and MD Vishal Kumar Dev.

Besides, the Odisha Bana Seva Sangha also provided Rs 50,000 to the Chief Minister Relief Fund.

Mihir Jena, Alok Hota and Debendra Behera from the Sangha met Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik and handed over a cheque.
