The people of Indore, Mhow, Pithampur industrial area and Rau tehsil will get a relief from daily traffic jam as the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) is coming up with a six-lane flyover at Rau junction which lies on the Agra Bombay national highway and is located at western part of Indore and it is the only junction through which the entire traffic of Mhow, Agra Bombay national highway, Pithampur industrial area, Rau and Indore city passes.
More than 10 lakh people of Mhow, Pithampur industrial area Rau and Indore who daily move through this road will get a major relief due to the daily traffic jams.
Ravindra Gupta Project director NHAI Indore region while talking to The Pioneer told that the elevated flyover will be of six lane category and it will have three wings on the Rau junction one wing will go towards Rau Indore other wing will go towards Mhow Khalghat and the third wing will go toward Dewas Indore.
Besides the construction of the flyover three and half kilometers six lane road connected to the fly over bridge is also included in this Rau flyover project whose total cost is Rs 80 crore.
It is to be noted that due to the traffic jam at Rau junction every day the Rau police has to deploy a police team of 6 policemen during the peak hours of traffic.
