A new road for transportation of ash evacuated from the ash pond was inaugurated on Monday at NTPC Kaniha. NTPC Kaniha CGM Ramesh Babu V inaugurated the road and entry and exit gates located at plant main gate.
The new road is expected to facilitate easy transportation of ash.
Earlier, the ash was being evacuated through trucks passing through Patharmunda village and the bypass area of Kaniha.
Now with the dedicated road, it is expected to increase ash utilisation for the National Highways Authority of India and other road construction activities in Odisha.
Further, the newly dedicated road would improve the safety and traffic movement of vehicles in transportation for ash round the clock.
