Tuesday, 03 September 2019 | Staff Reporter | RAIPUR

Suspended Director General  (DG) and senior IPS of state cadre, Mukesh Gupta, who is facing multiple cases of serious charges on Monday approached the Supreme Court and pleaded that the cases against him be transferred to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).

Gupta, who was an influential police officer during the BJP regime, is facing hard time now as the state government had reopened the cases against him pertaining to corruption, misuse of post, phone taping, suspicious death of his alleged second wife Miki Mehta and SADA land scam.

In the Supreme Court he had alleged that all the charges against him were fabricated by the state government and hence all the cases must be handed over to a central agency, the CBI.

Supreme Court during hearing on the case filed by Gupta, on Monday issued notice to the state government and other concerned      respondents.
