Min inspects RCVP Noronha Academy

General Administration Minister Govind Singh on Saturday inspected the RCVP Noronha Academy of Administration and Management, Bhopal and apprised himself with the training programmes held in the Academy.

Singh also held discussion with Director General of the Academy AP Shrivastava and Director Sanjeev Singh. He said that new dimensions will be given to the training programmes of the Academy. The state government will initiate development of new facilities in the academy.

The Minister said that the academy established in the year 1966 established its new identity after being awarded the Excellence Award from the Government of India in 1994, the Best Institution award for overall quality management in the year 1995 and the ISO 9001-2000 in the year 2003. This should not stop. Singh appreciated the activities of the Academy. Issuing instructions to prepare proposals for new works, he said that the important vacancies will be filled in the Academy. He inspected the Golden Jubilee Auditorium, Noronha Vithika, Mini Theatre, Library, Hostel and under construction Swimming pool located in the Academy premises.

Director General Shrivastava said that the Academy is one of the best training institutes in the country. The 43-acre area of the Academy is equipped with all the necessary facilities. If necessary, initiative will be taken for the construction of a new hostel. The Academy is conducting basic training for All India and Group-A officers of Central Service besides state government officials, mid-career training of senior officers of the State Administrative Service and virtual classes for higher and school education students under the Swan Project.

He said that approximately 250 training programmes are held per year in the Academy. Seminars and workshops are also conducted. A Government of India funded project for introductory training programme is also being implemented here. ‘Sarvottam cell’ has been made in the Academy in which nearly 33,000 Panchayat Secretaries and Employment Assistants of Panchayat and Rural Development Department have been trained from SATCOM Centre.
