On the seventh day of the Municipal Corporation of Dehradun’s (MCD) drive to remove the construction material and debris from the main roads penalties were imposed on a total of 20 people/institutions by the MCD on Thursday.
A fine of Rs 27,500 was imposed on 10 people and actions were taken against the rest 10 people/institutions.
The drive on Thursday started from Patelnagar to West Canal Road in Majra via Subhash Nagar and Shimla Bypass. The ongoing drive of the MCD to collect debris and construction material is being conducted after recognising the problems faced by the daily commuters and disruption in traffic.
It is also being done to prevent road accidents and mishaps.The municipal commissioner Vinay Shankar Pandey has once again requested the public not to keep any construction material and debris on the roads.
He also requested the public to inform the MCD if any kind of construction material is found outside buildings which are being constructed or renovated.
