A case was registered against president of Kendrapara Credit Co-operative Society Pramod Kumar Sahu, who is holding the post of State secretary of ruling BJD, at Kendrapara Town police station for allegedly sexually harassing a woman employee at work place .
The complainant, a clerk working the cooperative society in her FIR alleged that ovet last some months, Sahu was making her calls over mobile phone and video calls during duty hours. Sahu by inviting her to his chamber gave her lewd remarks and even touched her body parts.
When she started opposing the act of Sahu towards her ,she was allegedly threatened by the president for transfer to a distance place.
Even, she was also transferred intentionally to Marshaghai branch .
Sahu, too misbehaved with her and her mother ,when they went to ask the president about the matter.
“Though I have lodged an FIR on April 30 , but ironically the police failed to register a case . Even, the police threatened to arrest me,” said the victim.
Having failed to get justice, she later knocked the doors of SDJM court by filing 1 CC case. The court later directed the Kendrapara Town police to register a case and to conduct an inquiry.
Kendrapada Town police later registered a case.
“I have knocked the doors of the SP of Kendrapara, district Collector, Additional Registrar of Co-operative Societies, Kendrapara circle, DG and IG of police department, and the State Commission for Women by filing petition to give justice to me,” the victim said.
Accused Sahu, however, rubbished the charges when contacted.
