Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal on Sunday said that in the last three years, the Paudhgiri Abhiyan launched for environmental protection has achieved great success in the state.
“The State Government has involved lakhs of school children with this campaign of environmental protection. Even this year, a target has been set to involve 22 lakh students of government and private schools with the scheme,” Manohar Lal said while speaking at the plantation drive and art festival organized at Faridabad.
The Chief Minister said that plants should be loved like children and served like parents.
After some years, these plants will become trees and serve the people throughout life.
All the schoolchildren from class VI to XII, who are associated with this campaign, have been asked to send photos by geo tagging of their planted saplings to ensure its survival.
If the students will again send photo with the same plant after six months, the government will send Rs 50 each to their bank accounts.
After one year, the students will again send a photo and this cycle will continue for three years, then every child will get Rs 600 in their bank accounts, he said.
A student studying class VI can continue this cycle up to class XII. In such a way, we are going to do this great work of environmental protection”, he added
The Chief Minister said that at present, Haryana has only 3.5 percent forest area, whereas it is 25 to 30 per cent in many states. The forest area in the state should also be increased along with the pace of development.

Speaking on the occasion, Industries and Commerce Minister Vipul Goel said that under the leadership of Chief Minister, equitable development has taken place all over the state from Hodal to Dabwali and from Mahendragarh to Yamunanagar. On the basis of this development, BJP will fulfill its resolution of 75 plus seats in the assembly elections, he said.
Regarding the Paudhgiri Abhiyan, he said that this campaign was launched many years ago in Faridabad and this time, it has been carried forward by sowing crores of seeds in the Aravali mountain range.
More than 2.5 crore plants are being distributed with resolution letter, the Minister added.
