Thursday, 05 September 2019 | Staff Reporter | BILASPUR

Chhattisgarh High Court, Bilaspur on Wednesday denied providing any immediate relief to former chief minister Ajit Jogi on cancellation of his caste certificates by a high power caste scrutiny committee and on FIR registered against him at civil lines police station Raipur.

The court of Justice P. Sam Koshi, which was hearing Jogi’s caste issue, however retained his membership of Chhattisgarh state assembly.

Former Union Minister and senior advocate Salman Khurshid pleaded on behalf of high power committee while Advocate General of Chhattisgarh, Satish Chandra Verma pleaded on behalf of the state government.

The next hearing into the matter would be held on September 26.
