The Regional Office of the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) here on Tuesday forecast formation of another low pressure area over the Bay of Bengal on August 4 which would trigger rains for next three-four days.
“A fresh low pressure area is likely to form over north-east Bay of Bengal around August 4,” the IMD said.
Due to its effect, light to moderate rainfall activity is likely over the State during next three to four days and thereafter increase in rainfall activity with isolated heavy to very heavy rainfall is likely to occur in subsequent three to four days, the IMD said. Light to moderate rain or thundershowers are very likely to occur at many places over the districts of interior Odisha and at a few places over the districts of coastal Odisha on Wednesday.
Similarly, light to moderate rain or thundershowers are very likely to occur at many places over the districts of south interior Odisha and at a few places over rest districts of Odisha on Thursday.
Besides, light to moderate rain or thundershower very is likely to occur at many places over the districts of interior Odisha and at a few places over the districts coastal Odisha.
Due to the strong monsoon, current sea condition is likely to be rough to very rough along the Odisha coast and adjoining sea areas. Fishermen are advised not to venture into the sea along and off Odisha coast during next 24 hours.
