Thousands of devotees congregated at the Gopinath Temple in Sakhigopal in the district to take part in the Radha Pada darshan ritual on the occasion of Anla Nabami on Tuesday. Since early morning, the devotees made a beeline to view Goddess Radha’s feet. They also got a chance to pay obeisance to the goddess decorated in traditional Odia woman costumes.
A priest said that viewing Radha’s feet and worshipping the Anla tree on this day brings great fortune for worshippers.
The district administration made elaborate arrangements for a hassle-free darshan of the goddess. Puri Collector Balwant Singh and SP Uma Shankar Dash monitored the situation. The administration also installed CCTV cameras in the temple premises and outside to keep a close watch on crowds.
