In what can be termed as a major boost to strengthen the forward areas along Indo-China border the, Border Roads Organization (BRO) has completed construction of two strategically important roads. These roads stretches, Nelong-Naga, and Naga-Sonam, would be of vital importance and facilitate speedier induction of Army and Indo Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) personnel to forward areas in time.
BRO has claimed that while constructing these roads, it has made use of innovative and technological skills involving environmental friendly cold mix technology for road construction.
Apart from these roads, the BRO has also constructed a 45 meter long Pre-stressed Jadganga permanent bridge. This bridge was constructed under extreme climatic conditions in a difficult terrain. Situated at an altitude of 12680 feet, this bridge located at highest elevation in Naga sector bordering China.
With the rapid modernization of border areas by China, BRO has put considerable focus and efforts in completing construction of strategically important roads and bridges in these areas.
The two roads and bridge were dedicated to nation on Thursday by General Officer Commanding UB area, Lieutenant General Harish Thukral in the presence of Officers and Jawans from BRO, Indian Army and ITBP.
On the occasion, he congratulated Director General Border Roads (DHBR), Lt Gen Harpal Singh and Chief Engineer Project Shivalik, A S Rathore for constructing these important roads and bridge in most difficult terrain and climatic condition.
The Chief Engineer (P) Shivalik, A S Rathore informed that Project Shivalik in Uttarakhand is dedicated in strengthening the border areas with full dedication and effort. He said that the Project Shivalik will be completing some more strategically important roads and bridges this year.
He appreciated Commander 36 Border Task Force , Sunil Srivastava, Officer Commanding 1442 Bridge Construction Company, Lt Col Yash Srivastava, Officer Commanding 72 Road Construction Company, Major S Mohanty and all the units, officers and staff of 36 BRTF for their dedicated efforts for completing these roads and bridges with quality.
