The Nuapada district unit of BJP organised a rally in Khariar town on Sunday to express solidarity with the Union Government supporting the Citizenship Ammendment Act (CAA).
BJP State president and Nuapada MP Basant Panda, party district president Subrat Thakur, former Khariar MLA Hitesh Bagartti, Prasanna Padhi and many other leaders of the party joined the rally which started from the Samaleswari temple and reached the meeting venue at the Agrasen Bhawan covering a one-km distance.
The rally halted on the road at several places and leaders spoke in support of the CAA and the NRC. "The purpose is to educate people about the facts and expose the Congress party, which is playing with the unity and sovereignty of the nation," said the leaders.
A meeting was held after the rally where the leaders vehemently criticised the Congress for creating disturbance all over India. Siba Prashad Mund, former district president and Ajit Chalan were also present.
