Tuesday, 30 April 2019 | PNS | JAJPUR

Tension prevailed in the Sukinda area in the district on Monday as a clash broke out between workers of two political parties at a polling centre in Gobardhanpur.

According to sources, violence erupted in Booth nos. 10 and 11 at Gobardhanpur of the Sukinda area after workers of the BJD were allegedly attacked by Congress workers while polling in the two booths was underway.

The assaulted BJD workers alleged that the rival Congress workers did not allow their agents to enter their concerned polling centres, following which they protested.

As per rules, one polling agent of each party is allowed to remain present at a polling centre.
