Six miscreants were arrested for ATM skimming from the Belpahar areas on Friday.
The Belpahar police caught the interstate ATM skimming and phishing miscreants who were taking away lakhs of rupees by duplicating the ATM cards of the customers.
The police have recovered from them Rs 76,000 in cash, 60 ATM cards, 2 schemer machines, one laptop, six mobile phones and one Scropio vehicle used in loot of ATM machines.
The criminals arrested were identified as Shankar Ray, Roshan Kumar, Dhirendra Pandey, Ritesh Kumar, Aman Kumar and Chita Ranjan Mishra.
"While all of them originally belong to Bihar State, they have spread a big network in different groups in Odisha and other States to loot money of the customers in ultra modern manner", said Jharsuguda SP Aswini Kumar Mohanty.
Mohanty further said that during interrogation the accused admitted their involvement in a number of bank loot cases including ATM card cleaning and scheming.
They further admitted to have successfully completed many such cases in Chhapra, Hajaribag, Mujaffarpur, Gumla, Simdega, Tata, Ranchi and Rourkela.
