Modi Sarkar has been working relentlessly to make air travel services and facilities more easily and affordably available to the common man.
On one hand, many towns and cities in the nation have been facilitated with air strips; while on the other hand, by managing competition in the market the prices for customers have been made very budget-friendly and economical.
Raghuvar Sarkar, in Jharkhand has taken measures for the same. State government has joined hands with the Airport Authority of India for the renovation and development of Dhalbhumgarh airport. Apart from this, the Civil Aviation Ministry, in accordance with the Regional Connectivity Scheme (RCS)- UDAN (Ude Desh Ka Aam Nagrik), has begun plans for operating on Chakulia Airport,” said Hardeep Singh Puri, MOS, Civil Aviation (Independent Charge) replying to a question asked by MP Mahesh Poddar in Rajya Sabha on Wednesday.
The Government informed in the session that according to the Pre-Feasibility Study, conducted on Chakulia airport to make it operational, if the basic structural and additional land related necessities were to be fulfilled then this airport can be made operational for category 3 C aircraft take-offs and landings, like ATR 72 – 500.
According to the Regional Connectivity Scheme (RCS) – UDAN (Ude Desh Ka Aam Nagrik) the airports of Deoghar and Dhalbhumgarh are already under development.
Dumka, Hazaribagh and Jamshedpur Airports also come under this scheme. By means of the UDAN yojana, started by the Centre in 2016, cheaper flight costs are being made available on 128 routes across the nation.
According to the DGCA, since September 2014 the number of domestic flight passengers has increased exponentially. Due to the growing competition amongst domestic air travel companies, India has maintained its reputation as the fastest growing civil aviation industry. International Air Transport Association (IATA) issued a report in 2018 which stated that the Indian domestic aviation market has seen the fastest growth of 18.6 per cent for the 4th consecutive year.
