HRD Minister Prakash Javadekar on Wednesday said students are the future ambassadors of our environment. Appreciating their efforts in understanding the environment related issues, Javadekar said the students intelligence, knowledge and awareness will bring out a positive change in our society in protecting nature like forest, biodiversity, wildlife, etc.
Realising the fire consequences of the environmental pollution and its future impact on living beings, Javadekar appealed that citizens must work together in a mission mode for the protection of environment.
He said that it is everyone’s responsibility to conserve and preserve the surrounding environment by changing mindsets which can give a good atmosphere to live a sustainable and healthy life.
Javadekar was speaking at an event to felicitate students at the 4th edition of TERRE Olympiad, a national level environmental awareness online quiz competition conducted by organisation TERRE Policy Centre.
Congratulating the winners of the competition and also the organizers for organizing the Olympiad, the HRD Minister stated such efforts will encourage and inspire the youth to get closer towards natural surroundings.
He said that the quiz competition will provide a unique and exciting platform for students to be more aware, as they are preparing themselves to become future manager.
This year total 2,49,218 students participated in the exam at national level and numbers of students received prizes in Top 5, TOP 10 and TOP 100 from all over India were into three categories as Saplings, Plants and Tree.
The online exam is very popular in the school students as its totally free of charge and can participate any time even on cell phone.
