Friday, 07 June 2019 | PNS | New delhi

As a part of the ongoing efforts to promote ecologically sustainable growth to generate carbon-free clean energy and to reduce the expenditure on electricity, the Ordnance Factory Board (OFB) has been participating in the National Solar Mission with an intention to meet 45% of its total energy requirements through the solar power route. This will be a significant contribution in the mission of generation of green energy.

The installation of grid connected solar power projects in various OFB units have resulted in generation of approximate 14712072.14 units of electrical power till November 2018, which was approximately 8.24% of the total power consumed during 2018-19. The cost of power consumption has also gone down significantly from 463.22 lakh during 2015-16 to Rs 163.78 lakh during 2018-19.
