‘I’m SRK because of Salim Khan’

Actor Shah Rukh Khan, who will be seen at the finale of Salman Khan-hosted game show Dus Ka Dum 3 this weekend, said that he owes his success to Salman's father and veteran screenwriter Salim Khan. The 52-year-old actor said, “When I first came to Mumbai, I had my meals at Salman's place where Salim Khanji supported me. It’s because of them I have become ‘Shah Rukh Khan.’ I have come on the show only because of Salman and I will go wherever he tells me to go.” Khan participated in the show with actress Rani Mukerji. The three relived memories of their film Kuch Kuch Hota Hai on the show.

‘I am not sure what the quintessential Bollywood heroine is because there are such varied films and roles these days. I am really happy with the films that I have done and  really hope I get to do a lot more in the future. I feel blessed that I did a role like the one in Queen.’

Actress Sonam Kapoor Ahuja, who is playing the lead role in The Zoya Factor, said she had taken some reference from Anuja Chauhan's similar-titled novel for her character in the film. “I have read the book several times and have taken quite a bit of references for my character in the film,” said Sonam. The actress is currently filming The Zoya Factor along with Sikandar Kher and Dulquer Salmaan. She said, “Anuja Chauhan is a part of the film's writing and the screenplay. It’s all her vision.”

Elba’s directing experience

Actor Idris Elba said that directing his first movie Yardie was a “nerve-wracking” experience. He said, “Yardie is a small project. It's not designed to be a big money-making film. Of course, this is a business and I want to be proud of it. I think there's a misconception that the higher you go, the lesser success matters. That's not true.” He added, “I've directed it, conjured it and it’s great to go in the public domain.”

Yardie is based on the 1992 novel of the same name by Victor Headley, which tells the story of a young Jamaican who is sent to london to facilitate a drug deal.
