Herat: An Afghan military helicopter carrying weapons and ammunition burst into flames during an “emergency landing” in western Afghanistan, killing at least four people, including the pilot, officials said on Saturday.
ISIS kills 20 US-backed gunmen in east Syria
Beirut: A Syrian war monitor and a Kurdish official say members of the Islamic State group have killed 20 US-backed fighters in the country’s east. The attack occurred late Friday in Deir el-Zour province where the US-backed Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces launched a wide offensive this week to capture the last pocket held by IS in Syria.

Nepal’s ex-PM Prachanda leaves for China visit
Kathmandu: Nepal’s former Prime Minister Prachanda left for China on Saturday on a four-day visit during which he is expected to hold meetings with the Chinese leaders and discuss issues
of mutual concern. Prachanda, who is the chairman of Nepal Communist Party, before
his departure said his visit is aimed at expanding relations between his party and the Communist Party of China.
