Akhilesh demands UP CM’s resignation

Former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister and Samajwadi party president Akhilesh Yadav has demanded the resignation of the Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath following the gunning down of a MNC executive by the police in gomti nagar in a fake encounter in the early hours of Saturday. Uttar Pradesh Congress committee president Raj Babbar also slammed the Chief Minister over the fake encounter saying “State Government is solely responsible for the ghastly incident and it’s a matter of stinging shame for the CM Yogi Adityanath’’.

Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh, who is Lucknow MP also spoke to the Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and the Director General of Police and enquired about the incident. Yogi Adityanath assured the Home Minister that a “judicious and effective investigation.” Will be conducted and the guilty will be brought to justice.

Akhilesh Yadav said in a statement that Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is solely responsible for the incident as a family has been destroyed by the trigger-happy cops. He said ever since Yogi Adityanath became the Chief Minister, UP police has gone berserk and hundreds of encounters have been conducted by the police where only the dalits, OBCs and Muslims were targeted.

The former Chief Minister later tweeted that “UP police by gunning down a common citizen. The incident has demonstrated the degree to which the culture of violence unleashed by the Yogi Adityanath Government has degenerated. The fake encounter incident    has also maligned the image of Uttar Pradesh among the international investors’’. The State Congress president condemning the incident said “UP police seems to be an army of goondas and criminals and its acting like the private army of the Chief Minister’’. He said the common people are not safe even in the Lok Sabha constituency of the Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh.
