Close on the heels of the mayhem over the portrayal of Rajput queen Padmavati and Turk ruler Aladuddin Khilji in Padmavat film, the Samajwadi party president Akhilesh Yadav invoked the Rajput pride of medieval period King Prithviraj Chauhan saying ''had the King Prithviraj Chauhan  not been ditched and killed the history of  India would have been different’’.

He eulogized the role of Prithviraj Chauhan but refrained from mentioning the name of Mohammed Gouri, the invader from the Ghazni province of Afghanistan who had imprisoned Prthviraj Chauhan and taken him to Afghanistan.  Prthviraj Chauhan was later killed in captivity.

Without  naming   Mohammed Gouri, SP president said  Rs Rs   the invader even after making 17 attempts could not win the war  and subdue Prthviraj Chauhan  but he was imprisoned  as he was ditched by King of  Kanauj Jaichand’’.  He added Rs Rs  Prthviraj Chauchan was a great archer that he could aim and shoot on the basis of sound and he ultimately killed that invader’’.

“We will do our best to bring back the mortal remains of Prthviraj Chauhan from Afghanistan. One should never forget the history, if you read the history then you will come to know of many things as to how Prthviraj Chauhan was ditched.  Had he not been ditched the map and the history of India would have been much different then what it is today’’, said the SP president while addressing Rs Swabhiman rally’ in memory of Prthviraj Chauhan   in Varanasi on Sunday. The rally was organized by Janwadi Party (socialist) a small political party floated by a OBCs community lonia Chauhan.

“For the lonia Chauhan community Prthviraj Chauhan is a great warrior and icon of the community. Prthviraj Chauhan is Rs mahapurush’ for our community and we are his descendent sand   we have the same Gotra Rs Vatsa’, said Sanjay Chauhan President of the Janwadi Party (socialist). Asked as to how the social status of the community reduced to OBCs which has a glorious past, Sanjay Chauhan said Rs Rs  the Chauhan community fled from Delhi and Punjab   due to tyranny and threat to very existence of the community from Afghan and Mughal invaders, so we lost the economic and social status and today we are listed as OBC community’’.

In his later part of speech Akhilesh Yadav specifically blamed the Rajput King of Kannauj   for the decline arrest and imprisonment of Prthviraj Chauhan.  Rs Rs  Even after 1,000 years Jaichand is a maligned name and nobody names the children after Jaichand. The Kannauj king organized Rs  Swanyawar’ for the marriage of his daughter   Sanyogita but did not invite Prthviraj Chauhan even as Sanyogita wanted to marry Prthviraj Chauhan’’, said akhilesh Yadav.

Underlining his proximity with the legacy of Prthviraj Chauhan President said Rs Rs  I had been elected to lok Sabha   from Kannauj seat for three terms and whenever I passed from the Sanyogita  marg  in Kannauj city , the memory of Prthviraj Chauhan refreshed in my mind’’. He said this road passes from the stretch between the river Ganga and river Kali in Kannauj.

Advocating for the due share of the lonia Chauhan community in power cake, Akhilesh Yadav said Rs Rs the community should be given its due share in all spheres of power. In digital India there is no problem in doing this and now Adhaar is also available. You can know the cast of a person by the click of the mouse’’.   He said Rs Naya Bharat’ is not possible without ensuring due share in power for the socially disadvantaged communities as per their share in population.

Sanjay Singh Chauhan, president of the Janwadi party (socialist) said his party would contest the 2019 lok Sabha election in alliance with the Samajwadi party. This party had contested the 2012   state assembly election in alliance with the BJP.
