A Special Police Operation Team (SPOT) has been formed to further strengthen the Anti-Terrorists Squad. Giving details about the team on Thursday, IG (ATS) Aseem Arun said that SPOT, comprising 54 members in each of the three teams, would be trained to counter terror attacks, urban warfare and high risk operations.
He said that the team would camp in Lucknow, Gautam Budh Nagar and Varanasi. He said that the team members were already trained by the National Security Guard (NSG), Central Industrial Security Forces (CISF) and Special Protection Group (SPG), the three forces which had an expertise to counter any SOS. He added that the teams would also include swan squad, bomb detection and disposal squad, Snipers and experts in telecommunication.
