64th National School Games conclude
Chandigarh: The 64th National School Games concluded here at the Sports Complex, Govt. Model High School Sector-43. The 4-day meet was declared closed by Rubinderjit Singh Brar, Director School Education, Chandigarh Administration, the Chief Guest at the ‘Closing Ceremony’. The National School Games organized by the Education Department under the organizing Secretary Anujit Kaur, DEO, UT Chandigarh, was held in the discipline of Squash Under 14, 17 and 19 Boys and Girls. Around 12 states and UT’s of India were in the city from 26th to 29 September 2018. 4 day National School Games Squash held under the aegis of the School Games of Federation of India. K S Murti was present as Observer of SGFI.
PGI observes World Heart day
Chandigarh: The Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER) School of Public Health, doctors observed the World Heart Day at Sri Guru Harkrishan Model School Sector 38, here. Urban Training center, Civil Dispensary Sector 38 , Senior resident, Dr Har Ashish Jindal with Junior resident Dr Shruthi Rajan Multipurpose health worker Rupinder organized a community level awareness programme among the students.
Relief to co-operative society flat owners
Chandigarh: Chandigarh MP Kirron Kher on Saturday announced a new scheme, giving great relief to people living in the co-operative society flats. They can now have ownership rights of these flats now.
Pb Power Min hands appointment letters
Mohali: Gurpreet Singh Kangar, Punjab minister for Power and New Nenewable Energy sources on Saturday handed over appointment letters to 54 dependents of deceased employees of PSPCL in which UDC, Typist , RTM, Peon and Chekidar categories are included. Speaking on the occasion, Kangar said that tubewell connections of those applicants would be released up to November 15 in those cases where test reports have been received . He said that PSPCL has already issued appointment letters to 2800 assistant lineman, 300 junior engineers , 248 Sub Station Attendants. The minister said that in near future fresh recruitment of 338 LDC would be made in PSPCL. On this occasion, Baldev Singh Sran,CMD, PSPCL appealed to employees to work honestly and with devotion for the progress of the organisation.
Himachal Chief Secretary superannuates
Shimla: Chief Secretary of Himachal Pradesh, Vineet Chawdhary an IAS Officer of the 1982 batch retired from service on Saturday after serving at various levels for around 36 years. A farewell function was held at Secretariat in his honour. Addressing officers and employees of Secretariat, Chawdhry said a positive attitude with team's spirits is essential to execute any work. He thanked all officer and employees, who had given their support and respect while his various tenure at different posts.
