Haryana State Vigilance Bureau has recommended departmental action against nine gazetted officers and 14 non-gazetted officers in eight inquiries, besides criminal case against a gazzetted officer and a non-gazetted officer in an inquiry, in the month of august.
Giving details, a spokesman of the Vigilance Bureau said that the Bureau has caught seven officers and officials red-handed while accepting illegal gratifications ranging from Rs 1,700 to Rs 40,000. Cases have been registered against them under Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988.
Sanjay Singh, clerk in the office of District Education Officer, Hisar, was caught red-handed while taking bribe of Rs 40,000 while Sub Inspector Pardeep Kumar in the office of Assistant Registrar, Co-operative Society, Sonipat has been caught taking bribe of Rs 30,000.
Assistant Sub Inspector, Narender Singh, Incharge and Samay Singh, Special Police Officer, Police Post Alawalpur, Police Station, Chandhut, District Palwal were caught while accepting bribe of Rs 10,000.
In a separate case, Suresh Kumar, Assistant Treasury Officer, Treasury and Accounts Department, Tehsil Matanhail, District Jhajjar was caught taking bribe of Rs 2,000. Jagbir, Reader and Deepak, Computer Operator, in the office of District Revenue Officer, Panipat were caught taking bribe of Rs 1,700.
Meanwhile, the Vigilance Bureau on Monday caught red-handed a Head Constable, Vinod Kumar of Narnaul while accepting illegal gratification of Rs 8,000 from Rati Ram of Narnaul in lieu of taking out his name from the case registered against him in Police Station Sadar Narnaul.
The spokesman said that a case has been registered against him under section 7 of Prevention of Corruption Act at Bureau’s police station at Gurugram.
In another case, Head Constable, Nayab Singh posted in Police Post No.2, Police Station Ambala City was caught red handed while taking bribe of Rs 2,000 from Rahul of Ambala City in lieu of arresting the remaining accused in a case registered in Police Station Ambala City.
