A day after BJD observer for Mayurbhanj district and former law Minister Arun Sahoo allegedly forced North Orissa University students’ union president Tushar Nayak to do sit-ups before party workers here, Congress and BJP members held demonstrations here on Wednesday demanding action against Sahoo.
BJP district Yuva Morcha president Kumar Manglam said if no action is taken against Sahoo, his entry to the district would be opposed and he would be shown black flags and eggs would be hurled at him.
Similarly, the Congress youth activists said if action is not taken they would hold a Baripada Bandh and if required a shutdown would be held in the entire district.
Notably, on Tuesday Tushar went to meet Sahoo at Baripada Circuit House to appraise some demands of students’ community.
But Sahoo allegedly humiliated him and made him do more than 70 sit-ups. later, Nayak took to Facebook to vent his feelings.
But till now Sahoo has not reacted to the incident.
