The State Government is making arrangements to present ‘Adi Anant Shiva’ laser show as the major highlight in Kedarnath when the portals of the shrines are reopened to the public on April 29. Prime minister Narendra Modi and chief ministers of various states are also slated to be present on the occasion.

State Tourism minister Satpal Maharaj said that this will be the first laser show in Kedarnath to present the story of lord Shiva.

The Tourism secretary Dilip Javalkar informed that through the Akshar Group of Companies, a story titled ‘Adi Anant Shiva’ will be presented at Kedarnath. The presentation will dwell on the mystic lore of the Shivaling’s appearance. The picturisation of the story will be projected on the western wall of the Kedarnath shrine. This laser show about 25 minutes in length will be presented two to three times daily from April 29 to May 4. Javalkar further informed that the state government has not made any payment for this laser show which is completely free and being conducted by the corporate group. Thanking the Akshar Group of Companies for holding the show, he opined that in a way, this is an example of corporate social responsibility.

The Tourism secretary went on to inform that so far more than 18,000 people had registered so far for the Kedarnath Yatra and before April 25, about 16,991 pilgrims had visited the shrines of Gangotri and Yamunotri. Thanking Trilok Security System, he said that the enterprise was facilitating free biometric registration of pilgrims in the state. Some home-stays too are available on the Yatra route and one can make online bookings in these through the Uttarakhand tourism website.

Soon, the State Government will launch a mobile phone application for the Yatra. Better facility and information will be available to the people through this application which will also boost security management.
