A woman and her lover killed by her husband in Shahjahenpur

A 28-year-old woman and her paramour were reportedly killed by her husband in Shahjahenpur. The sensational killing came to light after the body of the woman, who was hacked to death, was found lying near the village pond while her lover’s body was found hanging with a tree. local police sent both the bodies for post-mortem examination and is waiting for the outcome of the report before taking the suspect in custody. 

According to reports, 22-year-old Rajveer, hailing from Shahbajnagar area of Shahjahenpur, was having love affair with 28-year-old Urmila, a resident of the same locality and already having three children. The family members of Rajveer opposed the affair while Urmila’s husband Gabbar, also threatened the youth with dire consequences is he will not stop meeting his wife. About a month back, Rajveer’s family members after finding no solution had forcibly married him with some other girl.

Reports further said that Rajveer still kept meeting Urmila. The matter took an ugly turn on Monday morning when the body of Rajveer was found hanging with a tree while few meters away, Urmila’s body was found lying in pool of blood. She was hacked to death with some sharp edged weapon. local police rushed to the spot and dispatched the bodies for post-mortem examination. They claimed that about 100 meters from Urmila’s body, they recovered an axe with which she was killed. 

later the family members of Rajveer alleged that it was Gabbar who came with one Kallu and called the victim for some work. When Rajveer not returned, they launched hunt and on Mondaymorning, they found his body hanging with a tree. They alleged that Gabbar killed their son and later hanged him with a tree to make it a case of suicide. They also suspected that it was Gabber who killed Urmila. However, Gabber told the police that he was away for work in a dhaba for last two days and returned the village after hearing about the death of his wife. Further investigations are on in this regard. 

Meanwhile in a separate case reported from Bhadohi, a 17-year-old girl was critically injured after a jilted lover tried to burn her alive in the Alamnagar area. The incident occurred under the City Kotwali police station area on Sunday night. local police claimed that the accused, identified as Zahid Ansari, allegedly barged into the house of the minor victim and set her ablaze after dousing her with kerosene. The victim gave the accused a chase in an attempt to catch him but lost unconscious as the flames engulfed her, the cops claimed. She was rushed to a local hospital from where she was referred to hospital in Varanasi with more then 80 per cent burns. The accused often teased the girl, local police revealed. A case has been lodged and efforts are on to nab Ansari, who is on the run.
