Odisha’s 1st PCCF Subas Padhi passes away
Bhubaneswar: Odisha’s first Principal Chief Conservator of Forest (PCCF) Subas Chandra Padhi passed away at a local hospital on Thursday. He was 87. He was known to be an upright and honest officer. He was the fourth son of late Binayak Padhi and hailed from the illustrious Padhi family of Paralakhemundi. He is survived by three daughters and two sons. During his exemplary career he brought around a lot of departmental reforms and was instrumental in shifting the PCCF office from Cuttack to Bhubaneswar.
15 cobra hatchlings rescued in Balanga
Balanga: About 15 cobra hatchlings were rescued at Puruna Budhakera village under the Balanga police station by Snake Helpline members on Friday. Source said that when wife of one Surendra Sethi had gone backside of their home to bring firewood, she saw the baby snakes. The Snake Helpline was informed and its member Ramchandra Mishra rescued the reptiles.
Ujjwal Batria Dalmia Cement new COO
Bhubaneswar: The Dalmia Cement (Bharat) limited on Friday announced the appointment of Ujjwal Batria as the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of the company. As a part of his new role, Ujjwal would lead the company’s operations of sales and marketing, logistics, manufacturing and technical services departments. Prior to this, he has been associated with Tata Steel (Cement Division), Century Textiles and Industries limited (Cement Division) and Eicher Motors. Company Group Mahendra Singhi said Ujjwal’s experience and leadership would be a tremendous asset for driving further our growth story.
Baby's body found in J’suguda
Jharsuguda: The Government Railway Police (GRP) recovered an injured dead body of a toddler (boy) on Thursday evening. It was found in one kilometer distance from the Jharsuguda railway station in the eastern direction. The police has done the Post mortem but the identity of the baby is yet to be ascertained. An UD case has been registered in the Jharsuguda GRP.
