Summit a waste of public money on publicity: UP Cong

Thursday, 22 February 2018 | PNS | Lucknow

The Uttar Pradesh Congress accused the Yogi Government of wasting huge public money on the publicity of ‘UP Investors’ Summit’ aimed at diverting public attention from the failure of the state and Central government in ensuing development in the last four years.

“Congress always supports development through industrialization and the state government claim of signing MOUs worth Rs 4.28 lakh crore is a welcome move but only if the same is actualised,” said state Congress spokesman Sanjay Bajpai.

Reacting to the Summit, Bajpai said that the past record of the BJP government

showed that they were doing politics on development than working seriously to bring industrialists to UP.

“The Modi led government closed down Mega Food Park, Hindustan Paper Mill and several other projects which Rahul Gandhi wanted to start in Amethi,” Bajpai cited.

The Congress spokesman said that the Modi-led government went ahead with Rafale fighters aircraft deal in which the NDA indulged in a huge scam.

Bajpai said that promoting local Industries was nothing but Rs jumlebazi’ of Narendra Modi, who has already cheated the public by making several such claims and later terming them as Rs jumla’.

The Congress spokesman said that the Prime Minister also did not refer to the phenomenal fraud at Punjab National Bank by an industrialist during his speech. Rs Rs All leading industrialists of the country were present during the Summit and it would have been better had Modi while wooing the, to invest in UP also appealed to them to honestly use public money taken through loans,” he said.
