Mayawati takes a dig at CM and his wife Dimple

Tuesday, 28 February 2017 | PNS | Lucknow

Stressing on division of states into smaller units as `key’ to all round development of Uttar Pradesh, Bahujan Samaj Party chief Mayawati once again took a dig at Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav and his MP wife Dimple Yadav asserting that their pary would have to be put on ventilator after the polls.

“SP ke babuaa ko SP ki bhaabhi bhi nahi bacha paayegi (SP’s kid can not be saved by his wife) and the party will be gasping for oxygen after polls,” she said at a poll meeting in Kushninagar.

The BSP chief was reacting to Akhilesh Yadav and Dimple Yadav, who during poll meetings had targeted her claiming “Buaa ji (Mayawati) was waiting with a ‘raakhi’ and will tie it anytime on the BJP’s hand. After SP’s alliance with the Congress, she has been feeling the pain.”

Mayawati even sought to ridicule the SP patron saying, “Mulayam Singh seems to have been affected by putra-moh (blind love for son) and insulted brother Shivpal. This will lead to division of votes.”

The BSP chief claimed that most welfare schemes pursued by the SP government had their origin during BSP’s regime. “SP has conveniently renamed the schemes started by the BSP. The much-hyped Samajwadi Pension Scheme was known as Mahamaya Gareeb Aarthik Madad Yojana,” the former UP CM pointed out and assured to work for a separate Poorvanchal state, if voted to power.

Mayawati did not spare the BJP and said, “BJP is Bhartiya Jumla (rhetoric) Party and poll promises made by Guru-Chela (Narendra Modi and Amit Shah) during 2012 lok Sabha polols have fallen flat. I urge you to give a befitting reply to the duo.” She also sought to rake up the issue of BJP’s ally Shiv Sena’s alleged aversion to people from Poorvanchal visiting Mumbai and other parts of Maharashtra for employment.

“The BJP speaks of unleashing streams of milk and curd, if they were voted to power. Have they done it earlier, or during its previous 6 years of rule at the Centre IJ” she querried.

She urged the Muslim voters to cast a decisive mandate in favour of the BSP. “If you vote for the SP, then it would directly benefit the BJP. The dalit vote base of BSP is intact, and when the Muslim votes combine with it, the BJP will face a tough time,” she added.

later, addressing another rally in SP patron Mulayam Singh’s bastion in Azamgarh, Mayawati raised the issue of division of state. “If the BSP forms government, it will not sit idle. It will divide UP into four smaller states - including Purvanchal, as

proposed by previous BSP government,” Mayawati said.

On Sunday too during her address at Gorakhpur, Mayawati claimed that the entire east UP has been facing backwardness and problems ans promised to carve out a separate Purvanchal if teh BSP came to power.

In 2011, Mayawati had passed a resolution in UP Assembly towards the fag end of her tenure for carving out Harit Pradesh (western UP), Poorvanchal (eastern UP), Bundelkhand and Awadh.
