Putting all the speculations to rest, the Bari-based Swadhin Sanghathan, which is working for development of Bari, has declared its allegiance to the BJP. Sanghathan founder Biswa Ranjan Mallick has announced that the outfit will formally merge with the BJP on June 10.
Mallick, a prominent face in the Bari area, said his organisation is moved by the saffron party's agenda and asserted that it would be an honour for the outfit to help Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister Dharmendra Pradhan in making a vibrant Odisha.
“The BJP is a huge platform where we can serve Odisha, particularly in Bari, in a much better way,” said Mallick at a Press conference.
Notably, Mallick as an Independent candidate in the Bari-Derabisi Assembly constituency lost the 2014 election by a margin of 7,000 votes. He got a whopping 52,000 votes. In the February panchayat elections, he managed to form the Bari Samiti by 21-7 defeating the BJP.
