Elaborate security arrangements have been placed to ensure peaceful counting of votes for the 10 Assembly constituencies of Dehradun district at Maharana Pratap Sports College in Dehradun, said senior superintendent of police Sweety Aggarwal on Friday.
Aggarwal briefed the policemen who were deputed on counting duty on the day, urging them to perform their duties sincerely. The counting venue has been divided into two zones as SP City Ajay Singh would be in the charge of the inner cordon while SP Rural Shweta Chowbey would take charge of the outer cordon. SP Traffic DS Gunjyal would look after the traffic situation around the counting venue and other important places in the city. Three parking slots for party agents, media persons and government officials have been made at the counting venue. Three mobile teams (foot) would be posted at three barricades to be erected at the venue while five other mobile teams (vehicle) would be deployed outside the venue. All the police station in-charges have been given two sub-inspectors and six constables to conduct patrolling in their jurisdictional limits.
Three additional SPs, four circle officers, six inspectors, four police station-in-charges, 55 sub-inspectors, 27 head constables, 237 constables, 35 women constables, one company PAC, two traffic sub-inspectors, four traffic head constables and 14 traffic constables, 16 local intelligence unit sub-inspectors, nine lIU head constables and 12 lIU constables have been deployed for the same.
