During the month of Ramadan, Bhopal becomes a city that never sleeps, Bhopalites enjoy every moment of it. Whether it is delicacies spread on an iftaar table or the excitement of sehri, Bhopal food lovers grab every opportunity to taste new and authentic delicacies.

During the sehri time the Old Bhopal turns into a paradise for food connoisseurs. People of the city have become nocturnal and are seen gathering at the restaurants particularly at Khan Sahab and Kafeela. These restaurants of Bhopal stay open at midnight to serve sehri.

From Itwara Street to family restaurants at Shahjanabad all are filled with aromas of biryani, kebabs, grilled chicken and more. Family restaurants like Khaan Sahab at Shahajanabad and Kafila at Jahangirabad remain open for the foodies to enjoy such delicacies during sehri time.

People along with friends and family go to the restaurants and enjoy their sehri.

The opening of the restaurants is a new trend now and Bhopalites are seemed to follow it with much ecstasy. The culture of having sehri at restaurants is new but is being loved by the Bhopalites.

This has made it easy even for the women foodies of the city to enjoy the delicacies sitting in a restaurant and taking the pleasure of those creamy chicken tikkas.

Talking about it to The Pioneer, owner of Khan Sahab Zafar Khan says, “This was the idea to let the youngsters who are the hostlers, living away from their family get a proper sehri. So, we keep the restaurant open for them to eat what they like. This gives them an opportunity to have good-time sehri and be prepared for keeping roza.”

Zafar further added that Butter Chicken, Haleem and Rogan Josh are the ‘most wanted’ dishes by the foodies. He further said that the response is pretty good groups of young people, newly-weds, university friends together enjoy sehri time with each other.

The restaurants buzz with activity at midnight as people place orders for sehri, enjoy special dishes, and hang out with friends and family. People enjoy a wide range of dishes in these restaurants, from simple desi food to continental and Indian dishes.
