After Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s advice to party MPs on refraining from interference in state administration, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath asked party MlAs to stay away from meddling in affairs of administration and not to lobby for transfer and posting of officials.
Yogi asked party MlAs to be conscious of their conduct as people’s representatives. He also asked them to be sensitive towards public problems and be humble in their conduct.
“By giving the BJP 325 seats, the people of the state have not only given a decisive mandate, they have also given us a huge responsibility. We now have to come up to their expectations and aspirations,’’ said the Chief Minister.
Addressing party MlAs and ministers at the lok Bhawan on Thursday, the CM, flanked by two Deputy CMs Keshav Prasad Maurya and Dinesh Sharma, urged ministers and bureaucrats `to refrain from using red beacon lights and hooters on their official vehicles’.
“People’s representative and officers should not use hooters unless there was some adverse situation and they had to manage the situation. The difference between the previous governments and the present BJP government should be visible to the people,’’stressed Yogi.
For better co-ordination between the party and government, the CM said that a whip will be appointed for a set of 25 MlAs and the whip will be in constant touch with legislators and help then in addressing grievances of the people.
Yogi said that it was the responsibility of MlAs to remain in touch with people of their respective segments and apprise them of priorities and development schemes of the government.
The CM also emphasized the need for better coordination among MlAs and the government for ensuring good governance. The meeting also discussed various issues relating to different departments of government and development of the state.
Yogi has been in action mode from the day he took over as Chief Minister. Besides toning up law and order, he has already ordered crackdown against illegal abattoirs and unlicensed meat shops across the state.
The government order is in compliance with repeated orders of National Green Tribunal (NGT) for closing illegal abattoirs across the state. The NGT order maintain that illegal slaughter of animals was a huge health hazard besides posing serious threat to environment and ground water resources
