!4 killed,8 injured in different road mishaps

At least 14 people were killed and 8 others injured in three separate road accidents in the State on Thursday.

In the first case reported from Bijnore, half a dozen people were killed and five others injured when a Bolero (UK08R-9876) carrying a marriage party collided with a mini-truck (UK08CA-4113) in Sherkot area near UP- Uttarakhand border on Thursday morning. The vehicle was carrying the marriage party from Kashipur(Uttarakhand) to luxar in Haridwar.  Drivers of both the vehicle died on the spot along with four others of the marriage party. The injured have been rushed to the nearby hospital.

In another similar accident in Fatehpur district, five people were killed and three others injured when a SUV collided with a truck under Thariva police station on National Highway -2. The Innova (MP07BA-2991) was going towards Kanpur when it collided with a truck (UP78AT-4573)near west bypass under Thariyaon police station. The deceased included three women along with a girl child and a driver. They were identified as Sapna Gupta (32), her 9-year-old daughter Siyanshi, Neena Gupta (40), Rohini Gupta (36), and driver Satyendra Rajput. The three injured were admitted to the hospital. The deceased were natives of Gwalior in Madhya Pradesh. The injured also included the groom Kuldeep and his wife. 

In the last case reported from Banda, 3 members of a family were killed and six others injured when their SUV rammed into a roadside tree and overturned into a water-filled ditch on Wednesday night. The family belonging to Fatehpur district was on its way to Gularnaka locality to take part in a funeral when it met with the accident on Sonhula road. The bodies have been sent for post-mortem after registering a case in this regard.

Meanwhile in a separate case reported from Gorakhpur, one person was killed and two youths were injured during a celebratory firing in a marriage function in Barhalganj area of the district last night. Reports said that a Sashtra Seema Bal (SSB) jawan Ravish Kumar started firing from his licenced gun in the marriage of his relative in Vishnupur village. In the firing one Brajlal (55) died on the spot while 17-year-old Ajay Kumar and 13-year-old Sumit were injured. Police has registered an FIR against the accused, who was absconding after the incident. The injured have been admitted to the hospital.
