Ex-Paradip Municipality chief Manjulata passes away

Paradip: Former Chairman of Paradip Municipality Manjulata Jena passed away on Tuesday morning at her Atharabanki residence. She was a popular women leader of Paradip. She headed the Paradip Municipality from 2010 to 2015. Present Paradip Municipality Chairman Basant Kumar Biswal visited Jena’s residence and paid his lastrespect to her. All councillors, Executive Officer Dillip Kumar Mohanty, BJD leaders and workers also visited her house. 

Seva Samiti celebrates NTR birthday in B’pur

Brahmapur: The NTR Seva Samiti celebrated the 94th birth anniversary of late former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister NT Rama Rao here on Sunday. T Tirupati Rao presided over the meeting. Samiti secretary S Srinivas encouraged people to get involved in social work. Among others, B Someswar Rao, M Venkat Ramana, T Partha Sarathi and Dr AR Verma were present. 

Sriharsha Mishra birth centenary from June 16

Brahmapur: A year-long birth centenary of eminent journalist and former editor of ‘The Dainika Asha’ Sriharsha Mishra would be observed across the State from June 16. A meeting held under the chairmanship of Sribatchha Dalai here recently took a decision in this regard. The birthday celebration committee has written to the State Culture Department urging to setup a chair in Mishra’s name in Brahmapur University. Among others, Rabi Rath, Nirmala Mishra, Bhagban Sahu, Dakhin Barta, Sudhansu Sekar Panda, Chadramani Sahu, Prakash Panigrahi and Jyoti Ranjan Dash were present.
