The eternal hit of Sadhna `Jhumka geera re Bareilly ke bazaar mein’ from the film `Mera Saya’ found mention in Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s speech when he said that Bareilly had always fascinated him with 'Jhumka', ' Surma' and ' Manjha'.
“Though I never came to Bareilly during my student life, but I had heard that there is a place where cine star Sadhna lost her jhumka (earring). I had also heard about 'surma' which is good for the eyes but I was more interested in 'maanjha' as I was dexterous in kite flying,” while addressing farmers at the 'Kisan Swabhimaan' rally in Bareilly on Sunday.
Modi, was however, enthusiastic about the huge crowd that assembled at the Rubber Factory ground in Fatehganj (West) of the city. " It is not an election meeting but such a huge crowd. This shows that farmers want to hear me," he said as the crowd chanted 'Modi, Modi'.
This is Modi's second rally at the same venue. Earlier, he had addressed an election meeting during the 2014 lok Sabha polls on April 1, 2014.
